ISLAMABAD: In a significant move aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s agricultural sector and food security framework, Prime Minister has appointed Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Dr. Shaista Khan Jadoon as the Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of National Food Security and Research.
The appointment was formally announced through an official notification issued by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on Thursday. According to the executive order signed by Assistant Secretary Ashraf Ali Samo, the appointment has taken immediate effect and will remain in force until further legislative directives.
As Parliamentary Secretary, Dr. Shaista Khan Jadoon will serve as a vital link between the federal government and Parliament. Her responsibilities will include facilitating parliamentary oversight, responding to legislative queries, defending the ministry’s policies on the floor of the National Assembly, and assisting the ministry in implementing key initiatives related to food security, agriculture, and livestock development.
The appointment comes at a critical time when Pakistan is actively pursuing reforms to modernize agricultural supply chains, improve climate-resilient farming practices, and strengthen the country’s national food security framework.
