NSU Islamabad Marks Independence Day with Flag Hoisting and Student Performances

ISLAMABAD: National Skills University (NSU) Islamabad held a dignified ceremony to celebrate Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, featuring flag hoisting, national songs, tableaus, speeches and debates.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saud Altaf, accompanied by faculty members, university officials and students. Director Mahmood ul Hasan later offered a special prayer for the peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

The main proceedings were held at the university’s Al-Mukhtiar Auditorium, where Prof Dr Saud Altaf congratulated the participants on Independence Day and appreciated the impressive performances presented by the students.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance of skill-based education in the country’s development and prosperity. He also prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and veterans, and renewed the resolve that no sacrifice would be avoided for the progress of the homeland.

Prof Dr Saud Altaf paid tribute to the courage, bravery and high morale of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, saluting their services for the nation.

During the ceremony, students presented national songs, tableaus, speeches and debates, showcasing their talent and receiving warm applause from the audience.

Representatives of Bank Islami also attended the event and assured their full cooperation for the development and progress of the university. Professor Emeritus and former Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Muhammad Khan also addressed the participants.

Hafiz Ghulam Muhammad, representing the National Technology Council, attended the ceremony as a special guest.

At the conclusion of the event, the Vice-Chancellor presented gifts to the distinguished guests. The ceremony ended with a cake-cutting ceremony to mark Pakistan’s anniversary.
