Government Hajj Scheme: Over 72,000 Applications Received as Deadline Nears

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced that over 72,000 applications have been received for the Government Hajj Scheme.
The deadline for submissions is set to close on Tuesday, with applications being accepted at designated banks on Monday and Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt stated that individuals could join their relatives’ Hajj groups for added convenience.
He outlined that applicants must deposit an initial payment of Rs200,000 to enroll in the scheme, with a second installment of Rs400,000—covering additional facilities—due within ten days of the balloting.
The final installment must be cleared by February 10.
Umar also mentioned that overseas Pakistanis can sponsor Hajj applications, allowing them or their families to partake in the pilgrimage.
Muhammad Umar Butt described the scheme as a step toward ensuring a transparent and efficient process.
In addition to the Hajj Scheme, the ministry has announced the 40th Annual National Hifz and Qirat Competition.
Nominations have been invited from all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with district and provincial-level contests scheduled.
Provincial authorities have been instructed to finalize and submit nominations by January 15.
Winners from provincial rounds will advance to the national competition, with top performers representing Pakistan in international forums.
This year’s competition includes categories for boys, girls, and youth, providing equitable opportunities for all participants.
