MSO Pakistan marks Independence Day with Rawalpindi rallies, events
RAWALPINDI: Muslim Students Organisation (MSO) Pakistan, Rawalpindi district, organised a series of programmes, rallies, seminars and ceremonies across the city to mark August 14, Independence Day.
As part of the Independence Day activities, a major rally was held under the Rawalpindi district chapter, in which students and young people from Rawalpindi participated in large numbers. The central theme of this year’s Independence Day events was “Love Pakistan”.
According to MSO Pakistan, its office-bearers, workers and students across the country are holding different programmes to celebrate Independence Day with national spirit and enthusiasm. These events include special discussions and awareness sessions on the struggle for Pakistan’s independence, the ideology of Pakistan, national unity, the role of youth and the country’s development.
Speaking on the occasion, MSO Punjab Nazim Sharjeel Ahsan said Pakistan was a great blessing of Allah Almighty and its freedom was the result of the unforgettable sacrifices of the elders.
He said it was an important need of the time to inform the younger generation about Pakistan’s history, the freedom struggle and their national responsibilities.
Sharjeel Ahsan said the purpose of the events being held under the title “Love Pakistan” was to promote love for Pakistan, national cohesion, a sense of responsibility and a constructive role among the youth.
He said MSO Pakistan believed that the future of the country was linked with the younger generation, adding that young people could play a fundamental role in making Pakistan strong and developed through their abilities, knowledge and character.
MSO Rawalpindi District Nazim Abu Huraira said Independence Day was not only a day of celebration but also an occasion to renew the national pledge.
He said the people should commit themselves to playing a positive role for the protection of Pakistan’s ideological and geographical frontiers, national unity, promotion of education and development of the country.
