Sajjad Mustafa Syed has been restored as Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) following orders issued by the Directorate General of Trade Organizations (DGTO), the association’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) has said.
According to the CEC, Mr Syed will continue as chairman for the remaining period of his statutory two-year term for 2024–2026, with immediate effect.
The Central Executive Committee said it acknowledged and respected the DGTO’s decision and would extend full support and cooperation to Mr Syed as he resumes his responsibilities as chairman.
In line with the DGTO’s decision, the acting charge earlier assigned to Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam has been withdrawn.
The CEC said the Senior Vice Chairman, other office-bearers and the entire committee remained committed to working collectively and constructively for the betterment of P@SHA, its members and Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled services industry.
It said the association stood united and believed that P@SHA’s strength lay in collective leadership, mutual respect, institutional continuity and a shared vision for the growth and advancement of the industry.
The chairman, senior vice chairman, office-bearers and CEC will continue to work together to strengthen P@SHA, serve the interests of its members, advocate effectively for the industry and help enhance Pakistan’s position as a globally competitive technology destination, the statement added.
The CEC also thanked members for their continued trust and support, saying it looked forward to working together for a stronger P@SHA and a stronger technology industry for Pakistan.
