Pakistani High Achievers Learn and Connect in Türkiye
Seventy-four of Pakistan’s brightest students from twenty-six educational boards visited Ankara under the Prime Minister’s Initiative for High Achievers (Phase II) for a day focused on education, innovation and cultural exchange. The High Achievers delegation used the visit to deepen their understanding of international academic pathways and research opportunities.
The programme included an interactive session at the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye where students held a meaningful dialogue with the Turkish Minister of National Education about education reforms, youth leadership and avenues for future cooperation. Conversations highlighted practical steps for academic collaboration and student mobility between the two countries.
The group also met representatives from YTB (Türkiye Scholarships Programme) to explore higher education opportunities and scholarship options, and visited Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) to experience Türkiye’s strengths in science and technology. Time at ODTÜ gave students direct insight into campus research facilities and academic programmes that many described as highly motivating for their future plans.
Visits to the National Library of Türkiye and the Pakistan Embassy School in Ankara added perspective on cultural heritage and community ties, reinforcing how academic and social links support long-term collaboration. Students repeatedly called the experience ‘inspiring’, ‘eye-opening’ and ‘a lifetime opportunity’, reflecting a strong appreciation for exposure to international learning environments.
The visit underlines Pakistan’s commitment to nurturing globally minded youth and strengthens educational bonds with Türkiye, opening clearer pathways for future exchange, scholarships and joint initiatives that will benefit students and institutions on both sides.
