Pakistan Role Boosts Ceasefire Momentum

Gouhor Muhammad Jawad, president of the Bangladeshi Students’ Association in Pakistan (BASAP), praised Pakistan for its central role in achieving the recent temporary ceasefire and for efforts to strengthen regional peace. He expressed both personal and organizational gratitude for Islamabad’s active engagement and mediation.

Mr. Jawad stressed the importance of respecting the ceasefire and urged all parties to adhere to the agreement, noting that the people of Bangladesh recognise Pakistan’s sincere efforts in convening stakeholders. He said, “I firmly believe that peace can only come through dialogue and trust, and Pakistan has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to these values.” The comment underlined BASAP’s support for continued diplomatic engagement.

Highlighting Pakistan’s hospitality in hosting discussions, Mr. Jawad commended Islamabad’s leadership role and called on the international and regional community to build on this momentum. “I highly appreciate the brotherly country Pakistan for hosting the talks in Islamabad and for its leadership in promoting peace. I sincerely hope Pakistan will continue its important role in building a stable and peaceful region,” he added, reaffirming hopes for sustained dialogue and confidence-building measures.

The endorsement from BASAP reflects broader people-to-people ties and a shared dedication to regional stability. Observers in Pakistan welcomed the acknowledgment, viewing it as an affirmation of Pakistan’s mediation efforts and a prompt to maintain constructive engagement to consolidate the ceasefire and foster long-term peace.
