RPO Rawalpindi Open Court for Quick Public Redress

RPO Rawalpindi Holds Open Court to Address Public Complaints, Orders Prompt Action from Police Officers

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, Babar Sarfaraz Alpa, organized an open court at the regional office, following the Government of Punjab’s vision and open-door policy, to provide immediate redressal of public grievances across the Rawalpindi Region. Citizens from all five districts—Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Murree—submitted their complaints directly to the RPO, who promptly instructed relevant officers to conduct inquiries and take necessary action within specified timeframes.

During the session, multiple cases were presented to the RPO. Muhammad Arif, a resident of Pirwadhai, reported that despite registering a fraud case at Pirwadhai Police Station, the suspect had not yet been arrested. As a result, RPO Alpa directed the SP Rawal to take immediate action. Sultan Afser Chishti from Rawalpindi complained about being falsely accused in a case, prompting the RPO to order the SP Investigation Attock to conduct a thorough inquiry.

Similarly, Tariq Mehmood from Sohawa, Jhelum, raised concerns over the non-arrest of an accused in a cheque dishonor case, leading the RPO to issue directives to the DPO Jhelum for swift action. In another instance, Muhammad Shafiq from Gujar Khan reported the disappearance of his child. RPO Alpa immediately instructed the ASP Gujar Khan to take urgent measures.

For all other miscellaneous complaints raised during the open court, the RPO issued on-the-spot directives to the relevant officers, emphasizing a strict reporting timeline to ensure accountability.

Highlighting the police’s commitment to public service, RPO Babar Sarfaraz Alpa reaffirmed that ensuring justice and relief for citizens remains the police’s foremost responsibility. He stressed the adoption of all possible resources to guarantee transparency, accountability, and prompt grievance redressal at every level across the region.
