Pakistan EU Political Dialogue Explores Enhanced Cooperation

**Pakistan and EU Reaffirm Strategic Partnership at 10th Political Dialogue in Brussels**
The 10th round of the Pakistan–European Union (EU) Political Dialogue concluded in Brussels, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to strengthening their broad-based partnership across strategic, security, and multilateral spheres. Ambassador Amna Baloch, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, led the Pakistani delegation, while Ambassador Olaf Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), headed the EU side.
The high-level discussions reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the implementation of the 2019 Strategic Engagement Plan and its constituent pillars. Both parties took stock of ongoing initiatives and progress made in areas including political cooperation, trade, human rights, migration, climate action, and development.
Significantly, the two sides explored possibilities for deepening their Political Dialogue by incorporating enhanced security-related collaboration. This new dimension is expected to further bolster joint efforts in addressing international and regional security challenges.
Regional and global developments featured prominently in the dialogue, with both delegations exchanging views on critical issues in South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The discussions underlined the shared interests and strategic convergence between Pakistan and the EU on major diplomatic and security concerns.
Both sides expressed strong support for diplomacy, multilateralism, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. They highlighted their intention to amplify cooperation within multilateral forums, particularly at the United Nations, to address pressing global challenges collectively.
Looking ahead, Pakistan and the EU reiterated their resolve to capitalize on the positive momentum from recent high-level exchanges and to continue expanding their relationship under structured institutional frameworks.
