CDA Board Meeting Decisions Impacting Islamabad Property

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) held its 12th board meeting under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, discussing key property-related issues, staffing matters, cultural heritage initiatives, and legal compliance measures aimed at ensuring the capital city’s continued development and welfare.
During the meeting held at CDA Headquarters in Islamabad, senior CDA officials including board members and the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad deliberated on several agenda items. Prominently discussed were transfer fees, registration fees, and stamp duties related to urban properties within CDA jurisdiction, rural properties in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), housing societies, and other property categories. The board decided to formulate comprehensive recommendations in line with relevant legal provisions.
The CDA board also reviewed matters related to the staff recently brought under CDA’s jurisdiction from the Public Works Department (PWD). It resolved to seek official guidance from the Establishment Division and Cabinet Division to facilitate the lawful and proper integration and adjustment of these maintenance staff members into CDA.
In another important agenda item, the board passed approval for preparing a detailed feasibility plan to make the Gandhara Heritage and Cultural Centre operational at F-9 Park, currently under CDA administration. Chairman Randhawa emphasized that revenue generated from this project would be utilized for public welfare initiatives, upgraded community facilities, and the continued beautification and development of Islamabad.
Additionally, complying with an Islamabad High Court directive, the CDA board approved the issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) related to writ petition number 2214/2022 (titled “Hassan Bano vs. FGEHA, etc.”) for Plot No. 676, located in Sector D-12/2.
The meeting further approved a request for returning a plot previously allotted to Motamar Al-Alam Al-Islami situated in Sector H-8. It was noted during the discussions that the financial reimbursement to Motamar Al-Alam Al-Islami will be significantly lower than the current market value of the returned plot, ensuring CDA financial benefit from taking back this valuable property.
Following the Islamabad High Court’s direction, the CDA board also sanctioned an approval for granting an alternative plot in exchange for Plot No. 39 located in sector I-10/3, Islamabad.
Concluding the meeting, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa reiterated his resolve and commitment that CDA is employing all resources to strengthen and enhance Islamabad’s infrastructure, improve citizens’ residential, transport, and leisure amenities, and transform the capital into an exemplary city.
