Islamic Banking Initiatives Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Pakistan

In an effort to increase women’s access to financial resources and boost entrepreneurship, the Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI), in partnership with the State Bank of Pakistan, organized an Islamic banking training program. The initiative saw participation from JazzCash and the Pink Team, who showcased digital financial solutions aimed at empowering business growth among women. At the session, State Bank representatives highlighted various significant initiatives currently available to assist women entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of inclusive financial practices.
During the event, IWCCI spokesperson Naima Ansari underscored the necessity of key policy reforms aimed at enhancing women’s ease of access to finance. Ansari emphasized that revised policies are vital to creating conducive financial environments that will help women-owned businesses flourish and become sustainable.
Furthermore, Ansari called attention to the pressing need for more robust engagement and enhanced connectivity between female entrepreneurs and financial institutions. She stated that stronger linkages and increased collaborations are crucial in enabling women to fully utilize available financial tools and resources, ensuring their businesses’ long-term growth and economic sustainability.
JazzCash and the Pink Team representatives elaborated on their digital finance offerings, explaining how technological innovations can be leveraged effectively to improve financial literacy and efficiency among women-led enterprises. Participants were informed about multiple ways digital financial solutions can remove barriers and provide convenient and secure access to capital—leading to greater economic independence and business confidence among women entrepreneurs.
