Pakistan Civil Awards 2025 Nominations and Selection Highlights

The Arts and Literature Subcommittee for the Pakistan Civil Awards 2025 held a detailed meeting in Islamabad to deliberate on 129 nominations. Presided over by Federal Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, the committee emphasized merit-based selections without limiting the total number of awards and decided to seek additional nominations from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as none had yet been received from the province.
The meeting took place at the Cabinet Division in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Khan Khichi. Committee members comprehensively discussed the merits and contributions of candidates in various fields of arts and literature.
In reviewing the nominations, the subcommittee highlighted that all selections must be based strictly on consultation and merit, rather than any other subjective approach. Minister Khichi explicitly stated that deserving candidates should be recognized regardless of limits to the quantity of awards issued.
During discussions, committee members expressed concern over the absence of nominations from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the arts and culture category. Despite dispatching a formal letter requesting submissions from the provincial government and its relevant cultural authorities, the committee had not yet received any response.
The committee hence decided to follow up with another correspondence to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, urging them to send nominations for eligible and deserving candidates from the cultural sector promptly.
The Subcommittee’s finalized recommendations will be sent for formal approval for the Pakistan Civil Awards 2025.
