Supporting Flood-Affected Families in Gilgit-Baltistan

**Floods Cause Widespread Destruction Across Gilgit-Baltistan; Relief Teams Assess Urgent Needs**
Severe floods have devastated large parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, resulting in significant loss of life and widespread destruction to homes, infrastructure, agricultural fields, and water supply systems. Many families have been displaced, and the region faces ongoing challenges as communities work to recover from the disaster.
In response, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Gilgit-Baltistan swiftly deployed field teams led by Branch Committee Member Mr. Bashir Ahmed to conduct rapid needs assessments in the hardest-hit areas. The assessment missions focused on evaluating the immediate needs of communities in Skardu, Ghanche, Kharmang, Shigar, and Roundu, where the impact has been particularly severe.
The initial findings from these missions will serve as a foundation for directing relief efforts and ensuring that assistance reaches the most vulnerable populations. PRCS has reiterated its commitment to stand with affected families throughout the recovery process.
Expressing deep condolences to those who have lost loved ones, PRCS emphasized its solidarity with all those affected by the floods, pledging ongoing support and cooperation to help rebuild lives and restore communities.
