PNCA Opens Major Art Exhibitions Showcasing National Heritage

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, has inaugurated two significant art exhibitions at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), highlighting both local heritage and contemporary creative trends. The exhibitions, curated by Asim Akhtar, offer the public an opportunity to engage with works from distinguished Pakistani artists and to reflect on the evolving landscape of visual arts in the country.

One of the exhibitions, titled “A Restrained Grace”, presents a collection of drawings by the late master artist Ustad Bashir ud Din. This showcase honors his rare artistic talent and enduring impact on Pakistan’s visual arts, providing insight into his refined style and celebrating his contributions to the nation’s cultural legacy.

Alongside, the exhibition “Bleeding Borders” features contemporary installation works by renowned artist Amin Rehman. These pieces tackle pressing socio-political topics, using compelling visual elements to encourage viewers to consider current issues through the lens of contemporary art.

During the opening ceremony, Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi commended the PNCA for its ongoing efforts to both preserve national heritage and introduce audiences to global artistic movements. He expressed appreciation for the work of curators and organizers, emphasizing that such exhibitions play a crucial role in enhancing cultural awareness across society.

As part of his visit, the minister toured the galleries and was personally briefed by Amin Rehman on the themes and significance of the installations. The exhibitions are currently open to the public and will remain accessible at the PNCA for a limited time.
