PHA Maintains the Beauty of Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi

**PHA Enhances Historic Liaquat Bagh with Special Horticulture Measures**
The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has launched an extensive initiative to preserve and enhance the beauty of Liaquat Bagh, one of the city’s most significant and historic parks. Acting on the special directives of Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, the authority is implementing focused measures to maintain a lush, vibrant environment and provide an exceptional recreational space for the public.
Liaquat Bagh holds a special place in Pakistan’s political and cultural history. Formerly known as Company Bagh during the East India Company’s rule, the park was renamed in memory of Pakistan’s first Prime Minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, after his assassination at this location in 1951. Today, Liaquat Bagh remains a central venue for political gatherings and serves as a popular destination for residents seeking relaxation and entertainment amidst its greenery.
To uphold the legacy and significance of the park, PHA staff have undertaken rigorous daily horticulture work. Their efforts include comprehensive maintenance, cleanliness, and the addition of decorative elements such as colorful flowers and well-maintained plantations, further enhancing the garden’s natural beauty.
Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha emphasized the importance of preserving Liaquat Bagh’s heritage while ensuring accessibility and comfort for visitors. He directed staff to utilize all available resources to keep the park lush and welcoming, reflecting the authority’s broader commitment to increasing green spaces and improving recreational facilities across Rawalpindi.
The PHA’s ongoing work in Liaquat Bagh signifies its dedication to urban beautification and the creation of vibrant, well-maintained public spaces for the benefit of local residents and visitors alike.
