**Pakistan and Austria Strengthen Ties, Eye New Partnerships in Education, Tourism, and Trade**
Pakistan and Austria have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, focusing on expanding partnerships in education, tourism, and trade. The renewed collaboration was the result of high-level discussions between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Peter Launsky, Special Envoy for Global Affairs of the Austrian Chancellor, held on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the current positive trajectory of Pak-Austria relations. The officials agreed that existing goodwill between the two countries should translate into concrete joint initiatives, particularly by enhancing people-to-people exchanges and fostering greater academic collaboration.
Peter Launsky commended the Pakistani diaspora in Austria for their contributions to the country’s economy and social fabric. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening connections between Austrian and Pakistani business communities to seize new and emerging opportunities.
The conversation further addressed avenues for cooperation in multilateral forums, particularly at the United Nations. Austria thanked Pakistan for its active engagement as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, especially during its presidency of the Council, and lauded Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting global peace and security.
The meeting concluded with both countries pledging continued efforts to deepen their partnership and build on the solid foundation of mutual trust and shared interests.
