MoU Signing Enhances Cyber Safety for Women and Children in Pakistan

**NCSW and NCERT Join Forces to Bolster Online Protection for Women and Children in Pakistan**

The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) and the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT – PKCERT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening online safety measures for women and children in Pakistan. This strategic partnership seeks to address the growing challenges of technology-facilitated gender-based violence by promoting a safer and more inclusive digital environment.

Led by Chairperson Ms. Ume-Laila Azhar, the NCSW has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of women and girls across the country. The agreement comes at a time when incidents of online abuse and cybercrime targeting vulnerable populations are on the rise. By collaborating with NCERT, NCSW aims to provide a comprehensive response that includes awareness campaigns, technical assistance, and community empowerment.

Key areas of focus under the partnership include promoting cyber safety awareness among women, children, parents, and educators. The two organizations will jointly develop user-friendly cybersecurity tools tailored to the needs of women and children and launch training initiatives to tackle emerging online threats. The collaboration will also facilitate research, internships, and learning opportunities to engage youth in the effort to combat cyber abuse.

In addition, the partnership emphasizes policy advocacy to ensure safer digital spaces and to influence legal frameworks protecting the rights of women and children online. By harnessing their combined expertise, NCSW and NCERT seek to not only prevent online abuse but also to empower communities to respond effectively to such threats.

This MoU marks a significant step toward a gender-equal Pakistan, where women and girls can live free from violence and discrimination, both offline and online.
