Law Ministry Addresses Bar Issues and Lawyer Welfare

**Law Minister Stresses Independence of Bar Associations, Announces Solutions to Long-Standing Legal Issues**
Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding the independence of the judiciary and legal fraternity, while also announcing key initiatives for the welfare of lawyers and the resolution of persistent administrative issues. Speaking during a meeting with delegations from the Multan High Court Bar Association and other bar associations from South Punjab, the minister emphasized that bar politics should remain confined to bar associations to maintain the impartiality and integrity of both the judiciary and the legal profession.
During the meeting, which brought together presidents and representatives from bar associations across Shujaabad, Jahanian, Lodhran, Dunyapur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Alipur, Jatoi, Jalalpur, Kabirwala, and Burewala, lawyers discussed the challenges faced by their communities and requested government support to address these issues. The President of the Multan High Court Bar extended gratitude to the law minister for the government’s ongoing efforts, particularly highlighting the Ministry of Law’s constructive role in promoting legal welfare.
Senator Tarar assured the delegates that the welfare of lawyers remains a top government priority and promised continued support to resolve their legitimate concerns. He noted that the Ministry of Law would provide every possible assistance to bar associations and work closely with them to address their evolving needs.
Among the reforms highlighted, the law minister announced that the long-standing issue of court fees has been resolved under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He also pointed to ongoing projects, such as the establishment of e-libraries and the solarization of bar association offices throughout Punjab, initiatives facilitated in collaboration with the Punjab government.
The law minister concluded by assuring bar representatives that their concerns would be addressed as a priority and pledged to further strengthen the relationship between the Ministry of Law and bar associations to ensure a more effective and responsive legal system.
