Empowering Faculty in Project Proposal Writing

Rice University Women’s (RWU) faculty enhanced their Project Proposal Writing expertise during a five-day training at the AKH National Centre for Rural Development in Islamabad from September 15 to 19, 2025. The intensive programme was designed to strengthen practical skills for developing persuasive, fundable proposals in a competitive funding environment.

The sessions covered rationale development, needs assessment and stakeholder analysis alongside project design frameworks that align objectives with measurable outcomes. Participants received hands-on guidance in results-based management, budgeting and proposal formatting, and explored techniques for crafting successful proposals with special emphasis on leveraging IT and AI tools to streamline research design and reporting.

Dr. Amber Sarwar and Dr. Javeria Amin, both Assistant Professors of Computer Science, joined faculty from social sciences and business disciplines, including Ms. Tehreem Ali (Lecturer, Business Administration), Ms. Kainat (Lecturer, Sociology) and Ms. Tabassum Kanwal (Lecturer, IT). The cross-disciplinary participation highlighted RWU’s emphasis on integrating technical and social perspectives into proposal development.

By advancing Project Proposal Writing capabilities and promoting the use of digital and AI tools, RWU reinforces its commitment to faculty professional growth and improved student outcomes. The training supports the university’s goal of enhancing research quality and institutional capacity to secure project funding that benefits the academic community and broader development initiatives in Pakistan.
