Tree Plantation Drive at Upper Swat College

A tree plantation ceremony was held at Wenai Degree College in Matta, Upper Swat as part of the Markaz-e-Haq and Independence Week celebrations. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness among students and encourage the community to contribute to a greener Pakistan.

The ceremony was inaugurated by the college principal, Mr. Rafiullah Khan, who planted a fig sapling to officially launch the campaign. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Sub-Divisional Forest Officer, Mr. Salahuddin Wazir, field staff from Matta Forest Subdivision Upper Swat, college faculty, and students.

Various fruit trees, including lemon, plum, guava, and apple, were planted during the ceremony. To further motivate students, additional saplings were distributed among them. These included ten apple, ten pear, fifteen guava, ten walnut, five fig, fifteen plum, ten lemon, and ten grape plants.

The initiative not only supports efforts to build an environmentally friendly society, but also plays a crucial role in instilling the importance of tree plantation and care in the younger generation. The event underscored the commitment of local authorities and the community to environmental conservation.
