Punjab Kabaddi Trials Held for National Youth Games

The Elite Training Centre at Nishtar Park Sports Complex hosted selection trials for girls’ and boys’ kabaddi teams under the supervision and guidance of Director General Sports Punjab, Khizar Afzal Chaudhry. More than 60 players from all divisions of Punjab participated in the trials, which were conducted by a selection committee comprising Tahir Waheed Jatt, Shahid Gul, Shahid Jatt, and Raja Mumtaz. The committee also arranged kabaddi matches among the players to assess their performance.

Director General Sports Punjab, Khizar Afzal Chaudhry, stated that these trials are part of the ongoing process to prepare Punjab’s teams for the first National Youth Games taking place in Islamabad. He emphasized that the selection of kabaddi players is being carried out on merit. Training camps for all sports disciplines will begin at Nishtar Sports Complex from August 22 and will continue until September 5.

The first National Youth Games are scheduled to be held in Islamabad from September 7 to September 13, providing an important platform for young athletes across the country.
