Islamabad Development Projects and Environment Initiatives by CDA

Islamabad’s top civic officials have pledged to accelerate the city’s development, enhance its environment, and improve public services, after a key meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters. The meeting, led by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, focused on expediting ongoing projects, boosting green initiatives, ensuring better water supply, and decisively tackling illegal constructions.

Senior CDA members, including those responsible for administration, finance, engineering, planning, and environment, attended the session. During the meeting, Chairman Randhawa emphasized the need for all development projects to be completed on time to enhance Islamabad’s growth and ensure residents have access to high-quality residential, recreational, and tourism facilities.

The meeting discussed several beautification projects across the city, with a special focus on landscaping and expanding green spaces at major locations. Officials also reviewed the proposal to convert the CDA nursery into a ‘Gardina Hub,’ which is intended to increase the city’s green areas and provide citizens with quality recreational opportunities, along with the availability of plants and flowers.

Improvements to Islamabad’s water supply system were also a major topic. The CDA is set to introduce new initiatives, including the rehabilitation of water supply lines and the protection of underground water reserves, to ensure reliable access to clean water for residents.

Participants gave special importance to environmental protection, discussing plans for an eco-friendly tree plantation campaign. It was noted that the CDA will prioritize areas—especially parks—where the maintenance and care of newly planted trees can be fully ensured.

In addition, the meeting resolved to intensify actions against illegal housing societies and unauthorized constructions. Chairman Randhawa made it clear that no leniency would be shown to law violators, and that operations to remove all illegal structures and encroachments will continue without interruption.

To ensure timely completion of all projects, the CDA chairman called for strict monitoring and urged citizens to fully cooperate with the authority. He appealed to the public to work together with the CDA to help transform Islamabad into a cleaner, more beautiful, and modern city.
