Pakistan Saudi Ties Strengthened on Saudi 95th National Day

Islamabad, September 23, 2025 — Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, speaking at a formal gathering to mark the 95th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, extended warm felicitations on behalf of the Senate, Parliament and the people of Pakistan to His Majesty King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the people of Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Gillani paid tribute to the visionary founder King Abdulaziz Al Saud and described the Kingdom as a beacon of stability, faith and progress across the Islamic world. He reiterated that the Pakistan Saudi ties are deep-rooted and time-tested, rooted in shared faith, cultural affinity and common aspirations, and noted the spiritual connection Pakistanis feel to the Haramain Sharifain.

The Chairman recalled the 1974 Islamic Summit in Lahore as a defining moment for Muslim unity that continues to shape bilateral relations. Welcoming the recently signed Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, he called the pact a milestone that reaffirms Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia and vowed that protecting the land of the Two Holy Mosques is a sacred privilege.

Drawing on his personal experience, Gillani referenced official visits to Saudi Arabia in 2008 and 2011 as prime minister and his recent trip as Chairman Senate, where meetings with the Saudi Shura Council and other leaders furthered parliamentary diplomacy. He emphasized that the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement sends a powerful message of solidarity to the wider Muslim Ummah against emerging threats and intolerance.

On the economic front, the Chairman highlighted expanding cooperation in energy, investment and human development, and welcomed Saudi investment momentum under Vision 2030 as ushering the bilateral partnership into a new and promising phase. He also lauded the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia for serving as a living bridge between the two nations and thanked Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malkiy for his role in strengthening ties.

Reiterating Pakistan’s resolve to expand cooperation in defence, economy, culture and people-to-people exchanges, Gillani called on both countries to continue working together for the peace, prosperity and dignity of the Muslim Ummah. “As we rejoice on Saudi Arabia’s National Day, let us celebrate the values of faith, trust and brotherhood that bind us. Let us renew our commitment to a future of shared progress and unity. Long live Pakistan–Saudi Arabia friendship,” he declared.
