Danish Alumnus Inspiring Climate Leadership in Pakistan

Dr. Imran Naqvi, a Danish-educated expert and current Head of Environmental Sciences at the National College of Business Administration & Economics (NCBA&E) in Lahore, is making significant strides in promoting climate awareness and sustainability in Pakistan. With a PhD research stint in Environmental Sciences and Advanced Biofuels at Aalborg University in Denmark, Dr. Imran has been recognized for his lasting contributions to environmental education upon his return to Pakistan.
After completing his research in Denmark, Dr. Imran chose to return home and dedicate himself to inspiring future leaders in green initiatives. His efforts have focused on enhancing the educational curriculum at NCBA&E by integrating Danish models and sustainable solutions, aiming to equip students with the knowledge and tools needed to address pressing environmental challenges.
The Embassy of Denmark recently highlighted Dr. Imran’s achievements as part of its Alumni Spotlight campaign. During a visit to NCBA&E, Chargé d’Affaires Peter Emil Nielsen met with Dr. Imran to discuss his experiences and the urgency of fostering climate resilience. The visit also included a meeting with students and a degree ceremony for graduates in Environmental Studies.
Dr. Imran’s work exemplifies how international educational exchanges can forge strong collaborations between countries, bringing innovative sustainability practices to new regions. Through academic leadership and cross-cultural partnerships, he continues to build bridges between Denmark and Pakistan in the shared pursuit of a greener future.
