Punjab Bans Public School Teachers from Private Teaching

The School Education Department has banned government teachers from teaching at private schools or academies. This move comes amid concerns that such activities are affecting the quality of education provided to students in public schools.
According to a notification issued by the department, government teachers found teaching at private institutions during official school hours will face disciplinary action. The department stated that this policy aims to ensure that teachers remain fully dedicated to their duties in public schools and do not neglect their responsibilities towards their students.
Sources indicate that thousands of teachers have been violating existing regulations by working in private schools and academies, especially during school time. The department highlighted that the new ban was implemented because the practice led to inadequate attention being given to students enrolled in government schools.
To address the issue, the School Education Department has announced that it will closely monitor teachers’ activities and enforce the new regulations strictly. The department intends these measures to improve the overall standard of education in public schools.
