Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal chaired a key meeting to discuss the draft of the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council Ordinance 2025. Senior officials, including the Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary (Admin), and Director General for the minister, were present at the session.
The participants reviewed major points of the proposed ordinance, focusing on reforms in the nursing and midwifery sector, setting professional standards, registration of institutions, and aligning the training of nurses with international benchmarks. The federal minister emphasized the critical role of nursing, describing it as the backbone of the healthcare system and underscored the importance of a strong nursing sector for the overall improvement of national health services.
