Women’s Caucus Leads Climate Action and Gender Inclusion

The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities affected by recent floods and advancing gender-focused climate change policies. During a recent working council meeting, members highlighted the importance of female participation in crafting and implementing solutions for environmental crises.

The gathering began with a collective prayer for flood victims, underlining the WPC’s ongoing concern for those impacted by natural disasters. Discussions centered on developing a comprehensive plan to address the effects of climate change, with a particular focus on protecting women from the severe outcomes of flooding. Members emphasized that involving women in environmental planning is essential for building more resilient and inclusive strategies.

In an important leadership update, Ms. Sofia Saeed Shah was appointed as the new Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Legal Reforms and Legislative Scrutiny, signaling renewed momentum in the Caucus’s legislative efforts.

The WPC continues to prioritize gender-sensitive policymaking and the promotion of women’s leadership in both environmental and legislative spheres.
