Advancing Engineering Collaboration Between Turkey and Pakistan
Ambassador İrfan Neziroğlu held a constructive meeting with H.E. Waseem Nazir, President of the Pakistan Engineering Council, to discuss ways to deepen engineering collaboration between Turkey and Pakistan. The conversation centred on promoting innovation, strengthening professional development pathways, and identifying practical areas for partnership that benefit Pakistan’s engineering community.
Both delegations emphasised the importance of joint initiatives that support skills development, knowledge exchange and industry-academia linkages. There was particular interest in programmes that can raise standards, introduce new technologies and create opportunities for young engineers to gain exposure to international best practices through collaborative projects.
For Pakistan’s engineering sector, enhanced engineering collaboration with Turkish counterparts offers potential gains in capacity building and innovation adoption. The Pakistan Engineering Council’s role in setting professional standards and accrediting programmes was highlighted as key to ensuring that any cooperative efforts yield measurable improvements in the workforce and the wider construction and technology industries.
Participants expressed readiness to continue dialogue and to explore concrete steps for partnership, signalling a mutual commitment to turning discussions into initiatives that support long‑term professional development and innovation in engineering.
