EDB Maps $234B in Projects for Eurasian Transport Network

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has introduced a new Transport Projects Observatory to oversee and coordinate more than $234 billion in infrastructure investments across 13 countries in the Eurasian region. This initiative aims to strengthen transport connectivity through the Eurasian Transport Network (ETN), with the Observatory currently monitoring 325 major development projects.
The Observatory features a comprehensive database and an interactive map, providing stakeholders with detailed information to assess investment requirements, track project progress, and synchronize both national and international efforts in building efficient transport corridors. According to the EDB, the tool draws on open data sources such as national transport programs, press releases, and expert evaluations.
The creation of the Observatory aligns with the strategic ETN concept introduced by the EDB in its recent report. This approach emphasizes developing a cohesive network of transport routes, particularly focusing on enhancing synergy between West–East and North–South corridors. The goal is to maximize both connectivity and economic benefits across the Eurasian region. The Observatory is positioned as a key resource in coordinating the substantial infrastructure investments required to make this vision a reality.
