Islamabad Dengue Cases Update 24 New, 554 This Year

Islamabad recorded 24 new dengue cases in the past 24 hours, with 16 patients requiring hospitalization, health officials said. Year-to-date there have been 554 confirmed dengue cases, the majority from rural areas, and response teams have completed interventions for most of the reported cases while carrying out extensive vector-control activities across affected neighborhoods.
The District Health Office reported that 16 of the 24 newly confirmed patients were admitted to hospitals for treatment. Health authorities are monitoring hospitalized patients and managing cases through established clinical protocols.
Since the start of the year, the DHO recorded a total of 554 dengue cases. Rural areas accounted for 417 of those cases, while urban areas reported 137, underscoring a higher burden in non-urban communities.
Response teams have completed interventions for 505 out of the 554 cases, the DHO said. These responses include case investigation, patient management support, and targeted vector-control operations in affected localities.
As part of prevention and control efforts, spray and fogging operations were conducted in 17,176 homes in the affected areas. This month, teams eliminated 12,493 dengue larval “hotspots,” and a total of 610,580 preventive activities were completed to reduce mosquito breeding and transmission risk, according to the District Health Office.
