Kazakhstan and Pakistan Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad to reaffirm both countries’ commitment to deepening political, economic and regional cooperation, and to discuss Kazakhstan’s domestic reforms and joint initiatives at the international level.

During the meeting the two leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and agreed on the need to expand political dialogue and strengthen economic ties. They emphasized collaboration on trade, investment and regional initiatives as priorities for further engagement.

Murat Nurtleu briefed Prime Minister Sharif on the political and socio-economic reforms launched by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and on the key themes of Kazakhstan’s recent State-of-the-Nation address. He stressed the importance of sustained engagement with Islamabad, describing Pakistan as one of Kazakhstan’s key international partners and expressing Astana’s readiness to support mutually beneficial projects on bilateral and regional platforms.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s interest in further deepening relations with Central Asian states, particularly Kazakhstan, and pointed to substantial untapped potential across economic and strategic areas. Both sides confirmed their intention to maintain high-level political dialogue and to intensify cooperation on trade, economic and investment links.

The leaders agreed to reinforce the regional architecture of relations and pursue joint initiatives at multilateral forums. At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif praised the strong ties between the two countries and expressed readiness to advance their partnership.
