Gilani Mobilizes Flood Relief to Rebuild Lives

Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani pledged that the government will remain with flood victims until they achieve full rehabilitation, addressing thousands affected by recent deluges across the country. Speaking at a relief distribution in Multan, Gilani highlighted how homes, farmlands, businesses and livestock were swept away and called for a coordinated response to restore livelihoods.

Gilani said the administration shares the grief of every affected family and is committed to helping them return to their homes with dignity, making flood relief and long term recovery a top priority. He underlined that restoring livelihoods will require sustained effort at local and national levels.

He commended the work of the Farmer Development Organization, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, Mukhtar A. Sheikh Hospital and Pakistan Sweet Homes for providing food, shelter and essential supplies to thousands on a daily basis. Gilani also assured that orphaned children from the affected areas will receive full educational support and ongoing care.

Emphasizing that government action alone will not suffice, Gilani appealed to philanthropists, traders and industrialists to come forward and support relief and rehabilitation work. He urged civil society together with federal and provincial governments to collaborate so communities can be rebuilt stronger and more resilient after this crisis.

MNA Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani noted that 5,000 meals are being distributed daily in his constituency and reassured victims they will not be abandoned. Present at the Multan distribution were Chairman Public Accounts Committee Punjab Syed Ali Haider Gilani, MPA Kamran Abdullah, Ghulam Mustafa from the Farmer Development Organization, Zuhra Sajjad and other local representatives coordinating relief efforts.
