Driving Pak German Healthcare Collaboration

The Pakistan Embassy in Germany hosted an interactive session with Dr. Saeed Akhtar, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Jinnah Medical Complex & Research Centre in Islamabad.

During his visit to Germany, Dr. Akhtar met with Pakistani-origin medical professionals based in the country to explore ways to strengthen Pak German healthcare collaboration through enhanced training, joint research and clinical exchanges.

Participants discussed leveraging the expertise of the medical diaspora to support capacity building at Jinnah Medical Complex, expand clinical training opportunities and develop collaborative research initiatives aligned with Pakistan’s health priorities.

The exchange underscored the potential of formal partnerships between Pakistani institutions and German medical centres to foster sustainable links that benefit both practitioners and patients in Pakistan.

The embassy facilitated the forum to encourage continued engagement and follow-up, with stakeholders highlighting coordinated training programs, research ties and professional networks as key steps toward translating the dialogue into practical initiatives.
