Universities Launch PYLI Youth Leadership Drive
A meeting at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi set the stage for a collaborative push to empower students through the Pakistan Youth Leadership Initiative (PYLI). Chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, representatives from the university and the British Council reviewed plans to deliver leadership training and expand opportunities for student engagement.
The PYLI project aims to build leadership capacity, promote social responsibility and equip a new generation of students with practical skills. University officials outlined their role in facilitating workshops and mentorship for members of the GYM Club, while exploring additional avenues for partnership and institutional support to ensure effective implementation.
Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman reaffirmed the university’s commitment to work closely with the British Council to make the PYLI activities accessible and impactful. He stressed that PMAS-AAUR will prioritise student development through national and international collaborations and will actively support training sessions and follow-up initiatives.
British Council representatives Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed and Mr. Aun Naqvi welcomed the university’s proactive approach and offered sustained support to advance the PYLI objectives. Both parties agreed to coordinate on scheduling, resource sharing and monitoring to maximise benefits for participating students and the wider university community.
