Deepening Ethiopia Kyrgyzstan Relations

H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Kyrgyz Republic with residence in Islamabad, called on H.E. Kylychbek Sultan at the Kyrgyzstan Embassy in Islamabad to discuss ways to deepen Ethiopia Kyrgyzstan cooperation.

The two envoys exchanged views on bilateral ties, focusing on the planned visit of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic to Addis Ababa and the anticipated opening of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ethiopia. Ambassador Dr. Jemal said the embassy opening would mark a new chapter in Ethiopia Kyrgyzstan relations and create fresh opportunities for engagement.

Ambassador Dr. Jemal recalled his recent visit to Bishkek and the warm reception he received from Kyrgyz leadership and senior officials, noting the goodwill that underpins the dialogue between the two countries. He briefed Ambassador Kylychbek Sultan on political, economic, social and legal reforms undertaken by the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia under the leadership of Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali.

H.E. Kylychbek Sultan lauded the transformative development and prosperity achieved in Ethiopia under Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, and expressed confidence that the foundations now being laid would expand cooperation across political, economic, cultural and educational spheres. The Islamabad meeting reiterated both sides’ commitment to progressing the Ethiopia Kyrgyzstan partnership through high-level visits and the establishment of a resident diplomatic mission in Addis Ababa.
