Transforming Pakistan Food Systems Together

On World Food Day 2025, WFP Pakistan joined FAO Pakistan, the Ministry of National Food Security & Research and the International Fund for Agricultural Development in a panel discussion focused on transforming Pakistan’s food systems.

The panel shifted the conversation from quantity to quality and access, stressing that ensuring safe, nutritious and affordable food for all is now central to national priorities. “The challenge is no longer about producing enough food – it’s about ensuring everyone has access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food.”

WFP Pakistan’s Deputy Country Director Lindita Bare underlined the need for coordinated action across agencies to strengthen food systems so communities can thrive and resilience can grow.

Speakers agreed that stronger food systems mean stronger communities, and reiterated a shared commitment to work together toward a future where no one is left behind in Pakistan’s pursuit of food security and nutrition for all.
