Experience Cultural Fusion at Lok Mela 2025

Day 4 of Lok Mela 2025 drew an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 visitors as families, students, artisans and cultural enthusiasts filled Lok Virsa for a full day of traditional crafts, regional food and live performances.

Natalia A. Baker, the US Ambassador to Pakistan, visited the mela and toured artisan stalls, meeting folk craftsmen and performers. She was accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Waqas Saleem, Executive Director Lok Virsa, who briefed the delegation on exhibit themes, artisan traditions and the cultural importance of Lok Mela as Pakistan’s largest folk festival.

The evening programme featured the Lok Virsa Cultural Fusion Night at the Open Air Theatre, where folk artists from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir presented a collaborative set blending regional rhythms, instruments and dance traditions. The fusion performance received sustained applause and highlighted national harmony and cultural unity, a central aim of Lok Mela 2025.

Throughout the day visitors engaged directly with artisans at live craft demonstrations, explored cultural pavilions and regional food courts, attended storytelling sessions and folk theatre, and participated in children’s activities. Media teams, influencers and cultural bloggers maintained steady coverage, helping showcase the breadth of Pakistan’s folk arts to a broader audience.

Lok Mela 2025 continues until 16 November 2025 and is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, offering further opportunities for local communities and tourists to experience Pakistan’s living traditions and support artisan livelihoods.
