Stepping Up Exam Inspections in Rawalpindi
Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan carried out surprise exam inspections during the Intermediate Second Annual 2025 cycle at multiple centres in Rawalpindi, leading to immediate disciplinary action after two candidates were caught cheating in the act.
At Government Graduate College Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, candidate Rana Muhammad Shoaib Ayub (Roll No 804742) was apprehended while attempting to cheat. At Government Comprehensive Girls Higher Secondary School Dhok Kashmirian, Rawalpindi, candidate Maryam Nadeem (Roll No 803734) was also caught during the same round of exam inspections. Cases against both candidates were registered on the spot and reports have been forwarded to the Board’s Discipline Branch for further action.
Tanveer Asghar Awan reiterated that transparent exams remain the board’s foremost priority and vowed that the booti mafia responsible for organised cheating will not be allowed to operate. He said that these exam inspections are part of a wider effort to safeguard the integrity of the assessment process across the board’s jurisdiction.
The Controller noted that board teams are working day and night and that exam staff are expected to perform duties effectively, comprehensively and honestly so that students receive the rightful outcome of their efforts. The prompt reporting and registration of cases underscore the board’s zero-tolerance approach to malpractice during exams.
The examination board’s spokesperson Arsalan Ali Cheema confirmed the actions taken and stated that all relevant documentation has been submitted to the Discipline Branch for follow-up.
