HPV Vaccination First-Day Review by Health Secretary

Punjab Health Secretary Nadia Saqib chaired a review meeting to assess the first day of the HPV vaccination campaign, examining district reports and operational details. She urged health workers to intensify their efforts and appealed to parents to ensure their daughters receive the vaccine on schedule, while affirming the provincial government’s commitment to provide necessary resources for the campaign.

During the meeting, officials presented a detailed review of the campaign’s initial performance, highlighting progress from different districts and identifying areas that need attention. The session focused on logistics, outreach strategies and the reporting received from field teams to ensure smooth continuation of the drive.

Nadia Saqib instructed vaccinators and campaign staff to increase their diligence and commitment to meet campaign targets and reach all eligible children. She emphasized the importance of frontline workers’ role in achieving high coverage and addressing any operational gaps promptly.

Addressing parents directly, the health secretary urged them to bring their daughters for timely vaccination, stressing that immunization can prevent serious illnesses later in life, including cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases. She called the protection of children’s health a collective responsibility of families, communities and the state.

The secretary reiterated that the Punjab government is providing all possible resources to support the campaign and will continue monitoring its progress to safeguard children’s future health.
