Empowering Youth for Margalla Hills Conservation
The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) conducted an awareness session at Trail 5 in Margalla Hills National Park with students from SLS School, Zaraaj Campus. The programme highlighted the importance of local biodiversity and the vital role young people can play in safeguarding the Margalla Hills ecosystem.
IWMB representatives outlined the significance of protecting native flora and fauna and discussed practical steps individuals and communities can take to support conservation. The session aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of environmental stewardship and to encourage active participation in preserving the park’s rich natural heritage.
By bringing learning to the field, the initiative sought to empower students to become advocates for Margalla Hills and to inspire ongoing engagement with conservation efforts across Islamabad and beyond.
