Driving Health Conference Innovation in Islamabad
The Health Services Academy hosted the first international health professionals education, research and entrepreneurship conference in Islamabad, drawing a large turnout of national and international health experts, researchers and students.
Dr Abdul Waheed told delegates that aligning medical education and research with global standards is an urgent priority. He urged young researchers and clinical professionals to use modern research, technology and entrepreneurship to strengthen Pakistan’s health sector, emphasizing practical steps to translate innovation into improved services.
Professor Junaid Sarfaraz and other specialists highlighted the role of innovation and sustained research investment in building resilient health systems. Speakers at the health conference discussed ways to foster cross-border collaboration, mentor emerging talent and integrate entrepreneurial approaches into medical training.
During the proceedings Abira Fatima received a Shield of Honour for outstanding performance. The award was presented to recognise and encourage young researchers whose work contributes to health education and service delivery.
Participants underscored that international gatherings like this health conference not only connect Pakistan’s health community with global peers but also enhance the professional capacities of local practitioners and students.
