Saudi Parliamentary Delegation Arrives in Islamabad to Bolster Bilateral Ties

Speaker Sadiq Praises Saudi Support, Calls for Stronger Diplomatic Ties

Islamabad – A high-level three-member delegation from the Saudi-Pakistan Friendship Group of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia arrived in Pakistan today on a special invitation from the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The delegation is being led by Major General (R) Dr. Abdulrahman bin Sunaid Al-Harbi, Head of the Saudi-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Upon their arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, who conveyed his best wishes to the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Speaker praised the Kingdom for its exemplary organization of Hajj pilgrimage and acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s enduring support for Pakistan during times of need.

Describing Saudi Arabia as a “close and trusted brotherly country,” the Speaker emphasized the historical, religious, and cultural bonds that unite the two nations. He stated that in today’s world, peace must be prioritized over conflict, and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and peaceful coexistence.

Highlighting the role of parliamentary diplomacy, the Speaker noted the importance of strengthening institutional ties between the two legislatures. He underlined that the Pakistan-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly plays a critical role in fostering understanding and cooperation. “Such exchanges,” he said, “enable lawmakers to benefit from each other’s experiences and perspectives, enhancing mutual respect and collaboration.”

The Saudi delegation expressed appreciation for the Speaker’s efforts in advancing parliamentary relations. Major General (R) Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Harbi reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s high regard for its friendship with Pakistan, describing the emotional and cultural closeness between the peoples of the two nations. “The hearts of the people of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan beat together in unison,” he remarked, reflecting the enduring warmth and solidarity between both countries.

The visit is expected to further enhance diplomatic and parliamentary engagement and reinforce the strategic and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
