Murtaza Noor Strengthens Pakistan Africa Ties at PAEC

The Pakistan Africa Economic Council (PAEC) has appointed Murtaza Noor as General Secretary for its Islamabad region, a move announced by the council’s Board of Directors and Central Executive Committee on November 30, 2025. In this role he will manage administrative affairs, membership development, event coordination and strategic liaison for the Islamabad Chapter as the council seeks to deepen Pakistan Africa ties.

Murtaza Noor brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education, development and international cooperation. He serves as National Coordinator of IUCPSS, Executive Director of APSUP and Senior Vice President of the Academia-Industry Linkages Forum. He is also the founder of the International Students Convention & Expo, Pakistan’s largest student-focused platform, which underlines his commitment to youth engagement and academic networking.

His portfolio includes prominent roles in global academic diplomacy, having acted as Advisor Linkages & Media at OIC-COMSTECH and as Country Coordinator for the Global Higher Education Leadership Academy. Collaboration with HEC, LUMS, UNDP and other institutions has seen him contribute to governance improvements, capacity building and inter-university cooperation across Pakistan. A regular columnist and youth advocate, he has received awards such as the Peace Award and Civic Education Award along with various national and international honours.

The PAEC leadership expressed confidence that Murtaza Noor’s dynamic leadership will bolster the council’s outreach in Islamabad and strengthen institutional and economic linkages with African partners. His immediate priorities are to expand membership, enhance event programming and establish strategic partnerships that advance Pakistan-Africa cooperation and regional engagement.
