Students Mobilize for Kashmir Black Day
On October 27, 2025 the RWU Literary and Debating Society, in partnership with the Directorate of Student Affairs at Rawalpindi Women University, organized a campus session to observe Kashmir Black Day and highlight the ongoing Kashmir issue.
The guest speaker, Dr Waleed Rasool, Academic and Research Convener at the Higher Education Commission, addressed students on historical injustices and the humanitarian consequences faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He outlined the resilience of Kashmiri communities and urged Pakistani youth to remain informed and active in promoting human rights and peaceful solutions.
Speakers and participants emphasized the critical role of young people in advocating for justice, stressing that sustained awareness and peaceful advocacy are central to advancing the cause. The session provided students a forum to discuss civic engagement, human rights principles, and ways to support Kashmiri aspirations for self-determination.
The event concluded with a solidarity walk across the university grounds, reaffirming Rawalpindi Women University’s support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The campus observance underscored how student-led initiatives can keep the Kashmir Black Day message alive and inspire further youth engagement on the Kashmir issue.
