Rawalpindi Kite Seizures After Police Crackdown

Rawalpindi police intensified operations against kite suppliers, arresting four individuals and recovering a total of 1,317 kites and 6 reels during coordinated raids across the city. The seizures underscore the growing enforcement drive as authorities target those supplying equipment used in hazardous kite flying.

In Nasirabad, police detained one suspect and recovered 1,000 kites and 3 reels. Gujar Khan authorities arrested another person and seized 290 kites along with a reel, while city police took two suspects into custody and recovered 27 kites and 2 reels. Separate cases were registered against each of the detained individuals and they remain in custody pending further legal action.

Divisional senior police officers said the crackdown is part of a broader effort to curb dangerous kite flying and related incidents. Officials declared kite flying a non-bailable offence in these enforcement actions, warning that those involved in the risky activity will not escape the law.

The Rawalpindi kite seizures signal a clear message from local law enforcement that suppliers and participants in hazardous kite flying will face strict consequences, reflecting ongoing concerns about public safety and the need to prevent injuries linked to this practice.
