DAMAC Explores PropTech and Tokenization in Pakistan
A Sajwani-led delegation from DAMAC Properties met Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja to explore collaboration across Pakistan’s digital and property technology sectors. The minister framed the discussion within Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Digital Nation Pakistan vision, highlighting ongoing reforms designed to foster an inclusive, innovation-driven digital economy. She noted the impact of the Ramadan Package, where 500,000 women were digitally onboarded through BISP by opening digital wallets in one month, a milestone for financial and digital inclusion.
Dialogue focused on practical opportunities for outsourcing, recognition and deployment of Pakistan’s tech talent, and how PropTech and tokenization can unlock savings, improve operational efficiency, and increase liquidity in both the real estate and financial sectors. Representatives discussed pathways to scale tokenisation projects while ensuring regulatory and market readiness.
The DAMAC delegation included Ameera Hussain Sajwani, Co-Managing Director of DAMAC Group and CEO of Prypco; Syed Zeeshan Shah, Chairman of ONE Group; Aqib Hassan, Chief Commercial Officer at One Homes; and Joseph L. Um, General Manager Tokenisation at Prypco. Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to facilitate global partnerships, enable innovation, and create a conducive digital environment to attract international investment and accelerate Pakistan’s digital transformation. Both sides signalled intent to pursue collaborations that leverage Pakistan’s tech talent and emerging PropTech solutions.
