Khorev and Chaudhry Meet to Kickstart National Dialogue
On January 21 Ambassador Albert P. Khorev met with Fawad Chaudhry, the former Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, to discuss the current domestic political situation and a range of international concerns.
The Khorev and Chaudhry discussion addressed Pakistan’s internal political dynamics and regional developments, with particular attention paid to the situation in Afghanistan and its implications for stability and bilateral relations.
During the meeting Mr. Chaudhry briefed the Ambassador on his initiative to organise negotiations between government and opposition parties through a National Dialogue Committee, outlining the committee’s purpose as a platform for structured talks and consensus building.
The Khorev and Chaudhry exchange underscores ongoing diplomatic engagement with Pakistan’s political actors and signals support for mediated dialogue as a mechanism to address domestic tensions while remaining attentive to wider regional challenges.
