Mobilising Support for 16 Days Activism in Multan
The Violence against Women Center Multan hosted an event on 1 December 2025 to mobilise support for the 16 Days Activism campaign, with staff from MCB Bank Multan invited to join the centre’s awareness drive and community outreach activities.
Chief guest Dr Ahmed Ijaz Masood, former Vice Chancellor and Consultant Clinical Oncologist, addressed participants alongside MCB representatives including Ms Sana Shahid (Unit Head MCB Multan), Ms Aminah Javed (Branch Manager MCB), and Ms Areeba Khan (Universal Services Officer). Legal and civil society voices at the event included Advocate M. Arslan of the Multan High Court and Mrs Imtiaz Feroze, Assistant Director SBBHRCW Multan, while protection and rehabilitation professionals such as Ms Sammara (Manager Women Protection Center Multan) and Ms Uzma Amin (Psychologist, Drugs Rehabilitation Center Multan) contributed to the discussion.
The programme, hosted by Ms Komal, Social Mobilizer for Helpline 1737 at VAWC Multan, began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a welcome note from Ms Silvat Shafi, Women Protection and Mediation Officer. Guests delivered speeches and awareness remarks focused on prevention and support services, with closing comments from Ms Hira Ahmed, Psychologist at VAWC Multan. Helpline 1737 staff and all VAWC personnel took part in photo documentation and a wall and banner signing activity to reaffirm local commitment to the 16 Days Activism campaign and to promote available support for survivors of gender based violence.
