Advancing Pakistan Kenya Digital Cooperation

Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom of Pakistan, met with Kenya’s Minister for Information, Communications and Digital Economy William Kabogo Gatu in Kuwait on 4 February 2026 to discuss shared priorities in digital development. The meeting focused on concrete steps to deepen Digital cooperation between the two countries.

Both ministers spoke about strengthening bilateral ties in the digital economy and agreed to pursue measures that expand collaboration on innovation and partnerships. Emphasis was placed on practical cooperation to accelerate digital adoption and create joint opportunities in emerging tech sectors.

Discussion also covered technology governance and the exchange of institutional experience, with both sides highlighting the value of shared learning to improve policy and regulatory frameworks. The dialogue examined ways to support capacity building and knowledge transfer that would benefit public and private stakeholders involved in the digital ecosystem.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to promote digital innovation and partnerships and to widen Digital cooperation between Pakistan and Kenya. Officials said follow-up engagements will explore specific projects and next steps to translate the ministers’ agreement into working initiatives.
