Promoting Unity With Ramadan Football in Islamabad
Ramadan football action began in Islamabad with the launch of the 14th UAE Ambassador’s Cup, attracting a large turnout of diplomats, officials and local spectators to celebrate sport and community during the holy month.
The opening ceremony welcomed the Ambassador of Kuwait, the Ambassador of Lebanon and the Ambassador of Zimbabwe, along with the Deputy Head of Mission of the United States, senior Pakistani government officials, members of the wider diplomatic community and representatives of the media.
Hosted by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the tournament aims to promote sportsmanship, cultural exchange and stronger people-to-people ties during Ramadan. A total of 10 teams will compete across 22 matches throughout the event, offering competitive football and opportunities for interaction among participating nations and resident communities in Islamabad.
The Ramadan football tournament not only provides spirited competition but also reinforces Islamabad’s role as a hub for diplomatic engagement and community outreach, bringing together diverse groups in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.
